Classes

We offer classes for all ages and genders! Find the class that is the best fit for you.

Each class group has the opportunity to learn both the modern style of hula, ʻauana, and the ancient style, kahiko. Each year, students will learn one or more dances in each style that will be performed at various local events throughout the year and at our annual recital (hōʻike). Costumes and performances are optional for all students but we encourage you to dance with us and share aloha with the community!

Keiki

All genders ages 5-8

Our keiki (children) class is for young, beginning students to introduce them to hula and Hawaiian culture! Keiki work on basic hula steps and technique, learn simple Hawaiian vocabulary, and develop skills to use implements (ipu, kālaʻau, etc). The keiki class is an excellent opportunity for kids to get exposure to a classroom environment, meet new friends, and build their confidence by performing on stage at multiple events around the Antelope Valley!

Kaikamahine

Girls ages 9-12

Our kaikamahine is for girls ages 9-12. The kaikamahine learns chants and dances that are more complicated than the keiki’s routines. They continue to build their basic hula technique and knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language.
